Post subject: How do I get at installed wireshark Archived from groups: linux>redhat>install (more info?)

| Dumb question here, I have installed Wireshark on Fedora Core 5 using YUM
but cannot seem to find the exe.

/usr/bin/wireshark
as a side note, you will probably want "yum install wireshark-gnome"
also, but I'm not familiar with FC5, so I could certainly be wrong.

Thanks, yes it needed wieshark-gnome.

Glad it worked out for you. I'd like to install 'wine', but RH
doesn't seem to have a yum package available for it. Have you trodden
down this path yet?

RH6 has Wine I belive at least I seem to remember running MS IE on it.
Cannot remember any deatils though,

I just had someone tell me that the latest version is
wine-0.9.43-2.fc7, and they got it from the yum fedora updates repository.
I use RHEL5, but YUM says no wine found. Seems strange that Redhat
would provide something for the free Fedora, but not for the retail
RHEL5. Anyway, thanks for your help.

Too many security issues for an enterprise version.

Wine in Fedora is provided and maintained by the community, not Red Hat.
Community-maintained wine packages for RHEL are available from the
Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux repository:
