I'm trying to use Telnet to connect to one of my local firewall box and
I get:

telnet: could not resolve 10.0.0.195:82/telnet: Name or service not
known

Why it can not resolve the IP address

are you doing:

telnet 10.0.0.195 82

(notice the spaces)

or are you doing:

telnet 10.0.0.195:82

(notice the colon)

?
