Maybe I'm just tired, but can someone explain this?

emerge -p world

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies ...done!

[blocks B ] <=dev-db/phpmyadmin-2.5.6 (from pkg
dev-db/phpmyadmin-2.5.7_p1)

phpmyadmin 2.5.7 can't be installed when a version older than (or
equal to) 2.5.6 is installed.
Do an emerge -C dev-db/phpmyadmin and try your emerge again.

Ahhh, I didn't recognize the <= as less than or equal to. It's been a
l o n g week. I've never seen that before. I did emerge -C
phpmyadmin and update is running (I think) see other post. (Subject:
[gentoo-user] screen ?)
