how do i access stage 3 on a vfat partition from the live cd?

mkdir /mnt/win
mount -t vfat /dev/hdxx /mnt/win

hdxx being the right partition, probably hda1 if you do not know...

the (-t) was part of the problem now when i try to mount it it says that
the kernel is not setup to mount vfat Sad

Try:

modprobe vfat

Then try mounting

Try this:

modprobe vfat

If it does work then vfat support is not on the livecd but I would doubt that...

Strange... I know it's supported on the Knoppix Live CD which I used to
install.

install.]

This is a fine can of worms I'm in, lol. My burner finally went out after 6
years so I cant make a new cd and my modem has a conexant chipset.

File 13 that modem and get a cheap external SERIAL PORT modem (mine cost
$14.50) and, lucky you, there are lots of people who furnish real cheap
Linux CDs and all it takes is a credit/debit card to order on-line.
