How do I handle this? Brian-

gentoo2 root # emerge -p postfix

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[blocks B ] mail-mta/ssmtp (from pkg mail-mta/postfix-2.1.5-r1)
[ebuild N ] mail-mta/postfix-2.1.5-r1

emerge -C ssmtp
emerge postfix

First, unmerge ssmtp, and after that, emerge postfix.
It should solve your problem.

Funny, I was just working on this with a friend at work. He had
unmerged ssmtp and it was still listing it as blocking courier. This
fixed it:

add "mailwrapper" to your USE flags, then:

emerge ssmtp
emerge postfix

courier doesn't have mailwrapper support, so I convinced him to switch
to postfix. He seems happy now. Smile

hth,

Cooper.
