ftp client suddenly dont work..

Post subject: ftp client suddenly dont work..
Archived from groups: comp>os>linux>misc (more info?)

Must have been an upgrade somewhere..both machines Debian lenny/etch no
longer ftp out correctly without having to be put into passive mode.

Now I have changed routers but surely a NAT router understands active FTP?

Or if not, surely the old ones didn't either?

Yes, I can type pftp or ftp -p instead, but is there a way to make ftp
client passive by DEFAULT
