Post subject: Trouble with updating system
Archived from groups: linux>redhat>rpm (more info?)

I converted a Fedora Core 6 system to Fedora 7 and then applied a
bunch of update RPMS by hand using the rpm program.

Now when I run pup or yum check-update it doesn't show anything
as needing updating; yet I know there are lots of more recent updates
out there. What's wrong? I guess there is probably some file I
need to remove and recreate to get the updates to be detected.

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

I found there was a file /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-update.repo.rpmnew
which needed to be installed in place of the previous fedora-update.repo
file. Now it sees all the updates.
