Post subject: Source of Debian Reference?
Archived from groups: linux>debian>doc (more info?)

Hi,

http://wiki.debian.org/DebianReference/ mentions "The source is in
asciidoc". Nevertheless I'm not able to find the source.

I cloned git://git.debian.org/git/users/osamu/debian-reference.git
but this repository contains too much: old (SGML based) translations,
outdated(?) wiki documents and even a few .txt files in wiki/ but these
start with "= Do not use Edit(GUI) button. =" and look that's why wiki
related.

A search for asciidoc reveals nothing in makefiles and most other files.

There are even duplicated files e.g. en/dataconversion.en.xml
and wiki/dataconversion.en.xml.

Where is the source? Why are probably generated XML documents part of the
repository?

Jens

These were xml files generated from MoinMoin (old early 2.0 series.)

I was going to use xml being source soon. MoinMoin was a quick type
help.

Please be paitiet.

I am trying to get new make file to build ... but initial run had
problem.

They were build on wrong location:
happened: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/index.en.html etc.
should: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-reference/index.en.html etc.

These pages are updated.
http://www.debian.org/doc/user-manuals#quick-reference
http://www.debian.org/doc/

I think moving from
old http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/reference/index.en.html to
new http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-reference/index.en.html

may take some time.
