Personal Antivirus is a fake spyware and virus remover, that is a
program that tries to convince you into buying it by providing fake,
unrealistic data about your PC infections or by using trojans and
other parasites to promote itself. Personal Antivirus is distributed
by malicious infected web sites that provide fake “computer antivirus
scans”, malicious software bundles, for example fake codecs, fake
shareware, or are downloaded by trojans already installed in your
system. In the last case, trojans in your system get a signal to start
promoting rogue applications like Personal Antivirus, from botnet
owners that in fact control your PC. You start seeing various popups
describing grave state of your system and that you need this
“wonderfull” Personal Antivirus, that is “recommended by Microsoft”..
That is utter lies - Microsoft does not recommend this scamware.
TO remove personal AV virus from your pc, follow the removal
instructions within this link

And this affects Linux in exactly what way? Keep your MS blabbering in
the correct group.

Hint: comp.os.linux.networking should be a dead giveaway.

Yes. I realised that when I continued reading the group. Ain't I
sheepish? Wink

Of course, the poster is a spammer/scammer, they intentionally posted to
irrelevant news groups. I doubt they'll see your reply (or care).

Is this idiot still spewing his intentionally false statements?

But almost everyone in those other groups ignore him, except for the
few who quote a microsoft knowledge base reference back to him every
time he posts his advertisement, showing that even microsoft knows his
techniques are wrong and specifically warns against it. There are also
some who complain that following his suggestion installed more vicious
malware than it _claims_ to remove. Anyone st00pid enough to
follow his intentionally bad advice deserves the results they get.

I know he's a spammer, but I think he's now hoping to graduate to
apprentice troll. Just killfile him, and put a firewall block on
the 67.222.128.0/19 block that is hosting his domain.

Old guy
