Post subject: Open Firmware variable for Boot-device for a new disk
Archived from groups: comp>os>linux>powerpc (more info?)

Hallo guys,

I have changed the hard disk on my evergreen PowerBook G3 wallstreet
and I cannot boot on it. Astonishingly after installing the disk the
first time I booted the mac it worked
Nobody can suggest me the variable for boot-device or boot-file of the
Open Firmware?
I have tried boot-device mac-io/ata-4@1f000/@0:9,\\:tbxi but OF says
it cannot be opened...(well it was just a try..)

This is the result of the command printenv:
0 > printenv

The old was OS 8.6 the new second hand disk is OSX, the Open Firmware
version is 2.0.1.
Thanks for help any kind...
