I suggest using
http://www.pallax.com/~discostu/opera/osie/
Besides that utility, you can use
http://www.opera.com/support/kb/view/313/ as a guide for which files to copy over. The only thing that is not the same between operating systems is the paths, so it's quite safe to just copy them. Copying over opera6.ini will not work because of that, but you can copy sections of that file to the new one. Just leave the paths alone
Something you do have to keep in mind is that wand and mail formats have been changed since 9.1x. If you copy it over the new version will automatically update the file(s). After that it's not possible to use those files in the previous version anymore.
