Post subject: Karmic Krapware: requires 2 boots - every time - to get started

"...the bootup means that it boots up twice. I see the boot message then a
ubuntu logo, some flash of text which I can't find logged (where is it?) and
then it reboots again, THEN it loads. what?? Adds about twice the time for
every boot up."
