Hi all,
I am new to exim and is trying to implement a dedicated content
filtering system for exim.
My requirement is that hostA should accept all mails specified as
localdomains in a mysql database and instead of attempting to deliver
it locally ,passing it on to a next hop server or a smarthost
Is it possible?
Thanks in advance

Exim has very sane documentation, and an active mailing list.
http://www.exim-new-users.co.uk/ is aimed at new exim users.
http://lists.exim.org/mailman/listinfo/exim-users is the list, but do
search the archive before posting, along with having read the docs.

If people get an answer apart from "Read the Spec." "Read the docs" on
Pkg-exim4, I've probably missed it (it's a list I no longer subscribe
to).
Saying that, I forget some people use *that* abomination, pkg-exim4:
i/we certainly don't.
(and yes, I do get fed-up with people asking questions to lists where
other lists are more appropriate, and where there are decent docs)

Unfortunately, "Read the Spec" is the appropriate answer to a question
_this_ general. Actually, the original poster queried whether his
goals can be done with exim, resulting in "Yes" being a good answer.
A more detailed solution is like a multi-day project which probably
nobody is going to do for free[1].
Exim is like a kitchen and a full food storage, and nobody would ask a
question like "I would like to cook a five course menu which will
immediately bring me two stars in the Guide Michelin witout spending
time to learn".
If the original poster cannot spend the time to get acquainted with
exim, it would probably be a good idea to move from the kitchen to the
restaurant and to choose a meal from the menu (i.e. use postfix), or
to hire a chef[1] to have the cooking done for him or to learn from him.
Greetings
Marc
