Detecting scroll button in a Mouse

How to identify the presence of Scroll button in a Mouse? Is there any
API or stright forward command to get it done

Read the manual for /xorg.conf/ and edit the file (as root) using a
plain text editor. Look into the settings for /ZAxisMapping./
