I'm working on upgrading the package to a newer version:

It seems that in that version the code you patched away still exists. It
is even used by default, and not only for debug level >= 3.

Can you provide a debug level 3 output from such a firmware file and the
firmware file itself? (be it a mock one)? The same 'Line:' debug print
should print the current line in buf.
