Do you have the EPEL and karan repositories installed on your CentOS
system? Redhat strips RHEL to the barebones, it's even missing Xemacs.
The karan and EPEL repositories get you access to a number of Fedora
packages which have been rebuilt for RHEL.

Although I haven't managed to get Sun's java plugin to work for me, I've
found the 64-bit IcedTea java plugin works reasonable well in 64-bit linux.

I'll check it out, thanks. Most of the stuff I do is server related,
which is why I like CentOS for a lot of things (with the min installs I
do), so I've not ventured all the way into things I would like for my
desktop/workstation. I appreciate the info, it might solve some
problems.
